I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the truest church in all the world because it teaches me that Jesus Christ was once a child like me, and that His Father in Heaven is also my Father in Heaven, and that he is my brother and gave His life that I might always remember how much He loved me and how I could be with Him someday, close enough to talk to Him face to face.
The day I was baptized was one of the most important and happiest days of my life, because the next Sunday at Sacrament meeting I would be confirmed as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I can remember when I was walking down the aisle in front of all the people how warm I felt inside. My heart was filled with gladness.
A very special feeling, different than any I had ever felt before, went all through me as hands were laid upon my head to bless and confirm me. I was informed that from that day forward my parents would no longer be responsible for my deeds, good or bad, but that I, myself, would have to take the blame for my own faults.
I felt happy when they told me if I would obey my parents and my Heavenly Father that Jesus would stand by me and always be my best friend.
The most wonderful part was when they said, "We say unto you receive the Holy Ghost." I knew then that a testimony is a feeling that only the Holy Ghost can help us to know, and that if we do not live good lives, the Holy Ghost will leave us.
